# CleanTable — Privacy Policy

CleanTable copies tables from web pages into your clipboard or into files on your computer. It is designed so that **the pages you visit and the tables you copy never leave your browser**. The only thing the extension reports is anonymous usage statistics about its own features (see below), and you can switch that off.

## What the extension does with page content

- CleanTable reads the content of a page **only when you click** (context menu, toolbar popup, hotkey or the optional hover badge). It uses the `activeTab` permission, which grants access to the current tab for that single action.
- The table you choose is converted locally (TSV, CSV, Markdown, JSON or XLSX) and written to your clipboard or saved as a download. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- If you enable the optional **hover badge**, the extension asks for permission to run on all sites so it can show a "Copy" button when you hover a table. Even then, processing stays local and nothing is transmitted.

## What is stored

- **Settings** (default format, cleaning options, per-site presets, number locale) in `chrome.storage.sync` — synced by your browser profile, not by us.
- **Licence key** (for Pro) in `chrome.storage.local`. The key is verified offline with a public key embedded in the extension; it is never sent to a server by the extension.
- **Multi-page merge state** in `chrome.storage.session`, cleared when the tab closes.
- A counter of successful copies, used only to decide when to show a one-time "write a review" hint.

## Usage statistics (Google Analytics)

To understand which features are used and where the extension breaks, CleanTable sends anonymous usage events to Google Analytics 4 (Measurement Protocol, via Google LLC). You can turn this off at any time in **Settings → Privacy → "Send anonymous usage statistics"**.

What is sent: the name of the feature used (e.g. "table copied", "XLSX downloaded", "multi-page merge finished"), the output format, the kind of table (HTML / ARIA / visual), a coarse row-count bucket (e.g. "11–100"), where the action started (menu / popup / hotkey / badge), the plan (free / pro), your interface language, the extension version and browser family, and the name of an internal error if one happens (e.g. "TypeError") — together with a random identifier stored in the extension and a session id.

What is never sent: page URLs, page titles, the content of any table or cell, your e-mail, licence key, IP-based location (Google's IP anonymisation is on; no advertising features are used, and the data is never used for ads or shared with other Google products).

If you uninstall the extension, the browser opens a short "why did you uninstall?" page on our site; answering is optional and only the chosen reason is recorded.

## What is not collected

- No account, no sign-in, no cookies set by the extension.
- No browsing history, no page URLs (the source URL is embedded only in the Markdown "AI profile" output you asked for, inside your own clipboard).
- No table content, ever.

## Purchases

Pro licences are sold through **plata by mono** (monobank, Ukraine) or **Paddle** (merchant of record), which process your payment details and e-mail under their own privacy policies. The only purchase-related data we keep is the invoice / transaction id, the licence key derived from it and, if you entered it on the checkout page, your e-mail (embedded in the key so it can be re-sent). The purchase (plan and amount, no personal data) is also recorded in Google Analytics on our website and server so we can count sales. Refunded licences can be revoked.
